The double standard...
Democrats were calling on Republicans to return all money associated with anyone who might have known about the Mark Foley scandal. Democrats are now having Bill Clinton in the area to support their candidates.
Isn't this a double standard? Mark Foley sent text messages, but Bill Clinton actually had sexual relations with an intern. I am not defending Foley's actions in any way, but I don't understand why Clinton is regarded as a hero who brings votes to Democratic candidates. What Bill Clinton did was worse than what Mark Foley did. Why should the Democrats raise money and support through him?

For the record, I don't consider Bill Clinton to be a hero of mine, and until recently, I have been a Democrat.
(How do I go about changing that blogger ID? Hmm...)
I'm an independent (non-affiliated) now, partly because I'm sick of the kind of party cheerleading that has replaced genuine adherence to ideals.
When a Democrat does the wrong thing, it's wrong. When a Republican does the wrong thing, it's wrong.
I agree.
Sorry to make the generalization about Democrats and Clinton. Perhaps I should re-phrase that to be clear that Democratic campaigns (specifically the Arcuri Campaign) think Clinton is a hero. They just keep bringing him in.
It speaks volumes that Bill "September 11th" Clinton supports Mike Arcuri.
The same guy that brought us Monica Lewinski and September 11th now supports Mike Arcuri and his Elitist ways! and now apparently, vice-versa.
That speaks volumes.
